Meetings start at 9am the 2nd Tuesday of every month.
Enjoy time for networking, empowerment, discussion, and the skills and connections you need to grow your business on your terms. We look forward to having you join us!
2660 28th Street SE
Grand Rapids, MI 49512
(Don't forget you can stay up to date with upcoming meetings as well as all the conversation throughout the month in our private Facebook group.)
September 28, 2017 - 2pm
8516 Homestead Drive, Zeeland, MI
Just off the 96 exit, so only 25 minutes from downtown Grand Rapids, and 10 minutes from Holland!
Consider this an experiment! We have been talking about what else we can do to build more connection, provide other opportunities for growth and networking, and give more women a chance to benefit from this amazing group of women! There is no cost to attend this event, but you will be responsible for purchasing your own food. We will take a donation to benefit a specific women's cause at the event (to be announced closer to the event.)
If you are on the Lakeshore, or have been wanting a more informal setting to get to know the women in this group, then come check out Rivka's favorite Thai restaurant, support a family owned local business, and enjoy the fun!
The menu is very gluten free and vegetarian/vegan friendly, as well as many dairy free options for those with food needs. Any other questions let us know!

Authentic Living: Signposts, Roadblocks and Your Internal GPS
“You are so authentic” is my favorite compliment to receive. Authentic living is where we find our joy; and the Universe conspires with us on this journey. There are signposts and roadblocks along the way to guide each of us, yet sometimes we need to look in the rear view mirror to see them.
We are all equally endowed with all we need to reach the destination – sometimes with scars and after several detours – of authentic living. The destination is well worth the journey.
Susan and George (former Mayor) Heartwell have been married for nearly 47 years and have learned to support one another on various paths, honoring their differences and remaining committed to their life partnership. They have three grown children and six grands.
Susan’s career has been focused on advocating for children in our community. She was a teacher and administrator of pre-school programs while her children were young. Crime victims then became her focus and she worked for nearly 10 years with the Office of the Kent County Prosecuting Attorney’s Victim/Witness Program. This involvement led to Susan’s role in the establishment of the Children’s Assessment Center, a multi-disciplinary agency responding to allegations of child sexual abuse, where she served on the board and then as Executive Director for over 9 years. The latest chapter in Susan’s career was serving for 9 years as Executive Director of the Grand Rapids Student Advancement Foundation, working to link community resources to the needs of the youth of Grand Rapids Public Schools.
Susan earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Albion College and a Masters in Public Administration from Grand Valley State University. Susan has served on several community boards including Spectrum Health, Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital, The Grand Rapids Symphony, Saint Cecilia Music Center, Michigan’s Children, The Children’s Assessment Center and The Dispute Resolution Center.
